Shopper’s Guide to Cape Cod Farmer’s Markets
Why shop at a farmer’s market? Well, there are a number of reasons to consider! One of the most prominent is that locally grown produce is fresh picked; unlike some supermarket fruits and vegetables, which may have been shipped half-way around the world before it landed on your grocery store shelves. Another important benefit is the one to our fellow neighbors: when we spend money within our community, it is an investment in the Cape Cod economy.
Many farmer’s markets now offer much more than just produce; they also give a variety of local vendors a venue to showcase their wares. You can find anything from jellies and jams, honey, knitted items, baked goods, eggs, seafood, hand-crafted wooden treasures to original works of art.
In honor of National Farmer's Market Week, we present this selection of Cape Cod farmer’s markets to explore and enjoy! Click on links to learn more about each event.
